Our family recently returned to Colorado after a ten-day road trip to visit family back in the midwest. It was a beautiful, harried mess of food and presents and family. I am grateful for every moment of the chaos. Our potty training two year old did great in the car; no sarcasm here, she really did better than we anticipated. Memories

Memory involves encoding, storing, retaining and subsequently recalling information and past experiences. Memories are strange critters. Helpful. Funny. Terrifying. Comforting. Sad. Sometimes repressed.

Soul Friend
I am struck this morning about the gifts of Celtic Christianity which are continuing to mean so much to me. As the New Year is just beginning I have recently lost a treasured friend to cancer. She had known for quite some time that she was dying. As she reflected on her life over the final several months she would talk to me about her life as, difficult but sprinkled with many gifts. Topping the list of those gifts was her family, most especially her husband. She spoke of hi
